Aquatic Fitness Classes

Aquatic Fitness
There’s something for everyone in the Y’s aquatic fitness classes. If you’re looking for relief from stiff joints, simply love the feel of the water, or want a new, challenging way to burn calories, we have you covered. All classes are available to minor dependents (10+ years) when accompanied by adult.

Aquacise
This is a moderate intensity workout done mostly in the shallow end of the pool. The instructors incorporate 30 minutes of aerobic exercise with strength training, stretching and abdominal exercises.

Aqua Tabata
This shallow-water class uses alternating periods of high intensity work and active rest. The class begins with a warm up and progresses to the interval cycles each consisting of a specific exercise to train opposing muscle groups. Well suited for all fitness levels.

Aqua Zumba
Known as the Zumba® “pool party,” the Aqua Zumba program gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, the Aqua Zumba class blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.

Deep Water Intervals
This class is done mostly in the deep end of the pool using pool floats and noodles. It is a combo of intense intervals and slow controlled Pilates. Soft on joints but works the muscles hard!

H2O Bootcamp
This unique program is a rigorous cross-training of swimming, water polo, water aerobics, modified plyometrics, and traditional strength and cardiovascular training. You WILL get your hair wet and your heart pumping! This challenging class can be modified for fitness levels, making it perfect for everyone!

Reviving Joints
This program is designed for people of any age living with arthritis, rheumatic diseases, or related conditions. The goal is to improve muscular strength, endurance and flexibility.

Making Waves
We will make waves to improve cardiovascular fitness, endurance, balance, and flexibility with low risk.

Deep Waves
Deep Water travel and movement will challenge your body, core and stamina. Basic swim skills are required.
