Important Facility Updates

Updated Facility Procedures and Guidelines- Phase: Orange (Updated 1/27/2021)


On Wednesday, January 20, Howard County officials announced the transition back to Phase Orange. In accordance with this announcement, the Kokomo Family YMCA will institute policies and procedures for Phase Orange starting at noon on January 27, 2021 (Wednesday). 
 
Below you can find all of our operations and procedures for Phase Orange. We encourage all of you to stay safe and follow local, state, and CDC guidelines. This is a great resource to check when you plan on visiting the Y! We will list all our current and most updated facility procedures and guidelines!  

GROUP FITNESS: 

• Class registration for Group Fitness classes will be available online, through our app or in person.
• Class size limits still in place for physical distancing. (8 people in studio 1, 22 for studio 3 and Zumba, 12 people in studio 4, 25 in functional fitness)
• Classes will continue to physical distance participants (6ft apart)
• Masks are required when not actively exercising. Wear your mask at all other times (ie when transitioning to equipment or machines).

WELLNESS FLOOR:

• Masks are required when not actively exercising. Must wear your mask at all other times (ie when transitioning to equipment or machines). 
• Cardio and Weight Equipment are spaced for physical distancing. 
• Members must clean equipment before and after use.
• Please adhere to all posted signage.
• Class registration for Group Fitness classes will be available online, through our app or in person. 
• Our rigorous cleaning protocols will continue to be implemented daily
• There will be a capacity limit placed as needed to align with state and local guidelines.  

AQUATICS:

Sauna and Steam Room are open. There is a capacity Limit for physical distancing. (Sauna limit of 2 occupants, Steam room limit of 2 occupants.)
• Masks are required when not actively exercising. 
• Limit 1 parent/guardian in attendance for swim meets/practices/swim lessons
• Online reservations will be required on tot spot, lap lanes and program pool (pool walkers)!
• There will be a capacity limit placed at 50 people to align with state and local guidelines.  
• Our rigorous cleaning protocols will continue to be implemented daily.

PLAY AND LEARN: 

• Temperatures will be taken.
• Masks are strongly recommended for kids ages 3 to second grade.
• Mask are required for any child in second grade and older.
• Play & Learn Staff will be wearing masks and PPE. 
• There will be a capacity limit placed as needed.
• Our rigorous cleaning protocols will continue to be implemented daily.

MASK UP HOOSIERS:

•We are following the Mask Up Hoosiers mandate, requiring masks to be worn in the facility except when actively working out. For more information click here!

YOUTH SPORTS/GYMNASIUM: 

• Limit 1 parent/guardian per child during youth sports events.
Masks/face shields are required for all parents/guardians.  
• Parent/guardians will sign-in by the gym door leading to the gymnasium.
• Parent/guardians for Youth Cheerleading will sign in at the racquetball court. 
• Spectators will not be allowed.
• Our rigorous cleaning protocols will continue to be implemented daily.
• No online reservation required.
• The MultiGen Room will have a capacity limit of 8 (total).

CLEAN TEAM: 

• We have increased our clean team to continually clean with stronger and safe products.
• Our Clean Team will be cleaning machines and equipment after each use.
• We do ask that you continue to wipe down machines and equipment before and after each use.

MEMBERSHIP: 

Age Restriction: No one under 12 is allowed into the building unless accompanied by an adult.
• Guest passes will not be sold at this time.
Face Coverings/Masks must be worn when not actively exercising. 
• Please adhere to all posted signage.
• Nationwide Membership has been resumed during this phase. 
• No groups over 25!
