We're listening to you and the needs of our community!
Earlier today, we sent out information on our decision to temporarily close the Y in response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. We agree with the decision and restrictions of our partners within the city and had been preparing for a shutdown in order to safeguard the health of our members, staff and community. It was not a decision we took lightly and we know it has left many of you with questions from what this means for your membership to how the Y is going to continue to help the community and surrounding counties. We are listening and will be addressing many topics in the next 24 hours.
Our mission is bigger than a building. We pride ourselves in making an impact within and outside of our walls so that the entire community can be strengthened. At times like these, we strive to be an organization that looks for opportunities to help as we adjust to pressing and immediate needs for the safety of our members, our staff and the citizens in and around Howard County. We want to thank you all for understanding that no one wants to be closed and we, like many other businesses and organizations, are navigating through it all the best we can during these unprecedented times.
Part of that navigation is to have clear communication and listen to your questions and concerns. Currently, we are compiling a list of the questions we've received and plan to address as many of them as possible. Please look for an update from us on our website and social media channels tomorrow afternoon.
