Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Waiver?
The Kokomo Family YMCA is so excited to welcome you back to the Y, and we have been hard at work preparing to keep our members healthy, connected and moving -- safely. To help accomplish this, we have a new online registration system as well as one quick document to sign prior to entry to the facility. You can do this in-person, but you can skip the line by doing this online from your web browser on a desktop or on our app, in the comfort of your own home. This updated waiver must be signed before entering our facility or registering for classes. Skip the line and sign HERE! Need help with signing up for classes or signing the waiver? Click HERE!
Are your hours the same?
Yes! We will resume with our traditional hours -- except on our opening day, Memorial Day. For that day only, we will have limited holiday hours. That day, we will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
What about the dues paid while you were closed?
All dues that have been paid by #StickingWithTheY during this time will be credited to member accounts in the weeks following our opening. Those can be used for membership, programs, special events or even snacks at our grab-n-go cafe!
What is the member reservation system?
Members will not have to reserve a slot to come to the Y itself, however reservations are required for our lap swimming, group fitness, open gym, and racquetball reservations. Reservations may be made online or through our app. Simply click on Programs and register for the class or area you would like to attend! If you need assistance, please watch our  instructional video! Make sure you have signed the updated membership waiver agreement before you return to the Y!
Is the Aquatic Center Open?
Yes, Lap swim and the program pool for walkers are open. General open swim, the tot spot, sauna, and steam room are closed during Phase 1. We will re-evaluate after a few weeks to see if we can open.
Is the lap pool open?
Lap pool is open. You will just need to register online or at the membership desk the day before. Limit of 4 lap swimmers per hour. Learn how to register for classes HERE.
What protective measures will be in the Aquatic Center?
The guards will have masks but will not be wearing them when guarding. There is a 20-minute window for the guard to clean before the next group comes in.
Are members required to wear masks?
While members may choose to wear a mask, we are not requiring it to enter the building. You will, however, be asked a quick health screen prior to entry each visit.
