I will never leave you...

For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
Years ago I memorized this verse. Not only is it a simple verse to memorize, but there have been many times where I just needed to remind myself of the promise God has given to us in this verse.

How about you? Ever woke up in the morning or been in the midst of a trial and not felt the presence of God? I have multiple times. This verse is a reminder that God is always there. It’s kind of like walking into a cloudy day where we can’t feel the warmth of the sun. We would never say to ourselves, “I guess the sun must have gone away.” We know it is still there, it is just blocked by clouds.

In the same way, people sometimes falsely reason that if they don’t feel the presence of God that He is gone. That He has disappeared. Rest assured, He is there even we don’t feel Him. It is just in these times that God is asking us to walk by faith and not by feeling. His word promises us that He will always be with us and that he will never leave us or forsake us. Today, trust in this promise.
