THE THERAJET®

What is the Studio?

Did you know that any member can use our new Rehab & Recovery Studio? This space packs a punch with everything it offers! You don’t need to have an injury to use the facility- it’s also great for injury prevention. Stop by to stretch before your workout, or try our hot pads during your warm-up. We also provide cold packs to help kickstart your recovery after exercising.

Whether you’re on the road to recovery or have recently completed rehabilitation, this thoughtfully designed space supports you in continuing your rehab exercises with confidence.

Additionally, we have a dedicated area specifically for our Pilates classes! For those concerned about injuries, Community Howard Regional Health offers convenient injury screening hours right in our studio. You can also get your blood pressure checked too! Come and discover how this empowering space can enhance your fitness journey!

Rehab & Recovery Studio Hours:
Monday-Friday: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
Saturday: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
Sunday: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

IS THIS FREE FOR MEMBERS?

Yes! This studio is for all our Kokomo Family YMCA Members. This is a quiet space, so we ask that you be kind and courteous to members that you are sharing the space with.

THE THERAJET®

What is the THERAJET®?

The TheraJet® Dry-hydrotherapy uses heated, powerful pulsating water jets to provide a massage-like experience for our members. Unlike traditional hydrotherapy, our dry-hydrotherapy does not involve immersion in water. Instead, you can relax comfortably on a bed while water jets contour to your body to provide a soothing massage. Dry-hydrotherapy has been shown to mitigate muscle tension, muscle pain, provide lymphatic support, and provide other benefits. Schedule your session today!

Pilates Studio

We offer the ORIGINAL Pilates program. Based on the principles of Joseph Pilates, this class focuses on developing a strong core. The Pilates Reformers program is a paid small group session that meets twice a week each month. It incorporates specific movements aimed at enhancing core strength, arm and leg strength, cardiovascular fitness, and flexibility through resistance exercises on Pilates Reformers machines. Each session is led by a certified Pilates instructor who creates a safe and challenging environment to help participants build a stronger body, regardless of their fitness level. ATHLETIC TRAINERS

In partnership with Community Health Network, our Rehab and Recovery Studio offers access to Athletic Trainers. You can visit during their office hours or schedule an appointment!

We provide a range of services, including consultations for injuries and mobility concerns, as well as education and demonstrations on injury prevention, exercise techniques, and stretching. Additionally, we offer nutrition guidance and assistance in understanding care options for primary care needs, musculoskeletal injuries, osteoarthritis, and other chronic conditions.

Athletic Training Hours

Mondays & Fridays: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Wednesdays: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Blood Pressure Screenings

Community Howard Regional Health is pleased to offer a blood pressure education and monitoring program for YMCA members. Appointments will be offered on a walk-in basis and will be conducted in the Rehab and Recovery Room on the second floor of the Downtown YMCA.

BP Screening Hours

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
