Adult swim lessons are for adults who don’t feel at ease in the water or who have never participate in swimming lessons. Non-swimmers are taught basic swimming skills and water safety. The YMCA helps adults develop valuable skills and a lifetime love of the water, while instilling responsibility and safety instruction. Skills taught center around five main components: personal growth, physical improvement, psychological improvement, physiological improvement, and swim mastery.
Current Swim Lessons
With a focus on water safety and skill development, the YMCA Fall Swim Lesson program is effective at helping children and teens learn to swim and, most importantly, be safe around water.
Adapted Aquatics
Adapted Aquatics is a private lesson program designed for children with neurological, developmental and cognitive challenges that teaches them independent swimming and water safety.
