1. Perform the role of an official to monitor play, oversee the safety of players, and ensure respective sport and YMCA rules are followed.
2. Arrive at sporting events at least 15 minutes prior to event start time.
3. Ensure games run ON TIME.
4. Maintain records as required (i.e. game scores, player playtime)
5. Build effective authentic relationships with players, parents, and coaches; help them connect with each other and the YMCA.
6. Encourage parent involvement and identify potential volunteers.
7. Listen to concerns, resolve problems, and correct inappropriate behavior. Document situations and relay them to the Sports & Rec. Director.
8. Follow YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Compete incident and accident reports as necessary.
9. Exhibit positive public relation; wear the required YMCA attire to all games.
10. Attend staff meetings and training as scheduled.
11. Adhere to the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
12. Perform other duties assigned.

Non-Essential:
• Attend all staff meetings and trainings associated with the department.
• Actively participate in the annual campaign.

1. Experience working with youth is preferred.
2. Experience in playing sports.
3. Must be available to work weekends.
4. A minimum of 18 years of age is preferred and high school diploma, or its equivalent preferred.
5. Ability to work with participants and the ability to interact and communicate effectively.
6. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information on participants and YMCA staff.
8. Maintain current certifications in CPR, AED, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention, New Employee Orientation, or the ability to obtain post hire.
9. Supervisory and administrative skills including ability to supervise program participants and maintain required program documentation and records.

2. Ability to lift up to 40+ lbs. and transport equipment if needed.
3. Ability to observe participants.
4. Ability to concentrate even when distracted by noise and activity.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with participants, staff and volunteers.
